Our Risk Analytics Algorithms are based on patient-specific data and models of human physiology, and they are delivered to the clinical workflow through our T3 Data Aggregation & Visualization (T3) software without any initialization required by the care team.

Risk Analytics Engine

Etiometry Risk Analytics Algorithms leverage our proprietary Risk Analytics Engine, which supports the implementation of sophisticated algorithms that combine and continuously convert multiple streams of raw physiological data into near real-time clinical information. By enabling the presentation of patient data in terms of estimated risks to the patient, it enables clinicians to bring attention to important derangements that can be harmful to patient recovery.

A core technology of the Etiometry Platform, the Risk Analytics Engine leverages mechanistic physiology models and a recursive application of Bayes’ Theorem to process various data sources and help caregivers track harmful conditions and perceive patient risks. It integrates multiple data sources ingested by the T3 software to determine the patient’s physiology state. The results are displayed on the Etiometry T3 software application to deliver this information to clinicians in an intuitive and efficient manner. The Risk Analytics Engine technology is:

  • Scalable by providing a framework to continuously add different physiologic effects and thus ingest an increasing number of biomarkers and physiologic data sources.
  • Refinable to provide a view of the patient risk profile with increased level of detail by including the tracking of a higher number of underlying disease states.
  • Grounded on mechanistic principles of human physiology and the application of the fundamental Bayes’ Theorem to provide an objective evaluation of a patient’s status.

Algorithms Powered by Risk Analytics

Algorithms Powered by Risk Analytics are available as add-ons to our T3 software. The first in our family of Risk Analytics Algorithms to receive FDA clearance is the IDO2 Index Powered by Risk Analytics. This algorithm continuously assesses patient-specific risk of inadequate delivery of oxygen (IDO2) by computing an IDO2 Index that reflects the likelihood that a patient is experiencing inadequate oxygen delivery at any given time. An increasing IDO2 value means there is an increasing risk of inadequate oxygen delivery and attention should be brought to the patient. The IDO2 Index is computed based on multiple physiologic measures and laboratory tests results collected by T3, and it is solely indicated for use for pediatric patients 12-and-under in intensive care with weight above 2 kg.
